Models that came in White

Listed for these models in Japanese catalogue colour listings. Not every colour was offered for every year or trim.

We believe these offered it too, but haven’t confirmed it yet:

Other Nissan models outside our model library used QM1 too.

Has a QM1 car been resprayed?

  1. Find the model plate and read the code. On the model plate (the “caution plate”) in the engine bay, usually on the bulkhead, next to COLOR. Some later models put a sticker on the driver’s door pillar instead. If it says QM1, the car left the factory in White.
  2. Check the V5C. For White it should say WHITE or CREAM. Add the paint code to our free check and we’ll compare it with the DVLA record for you.
  3. Check the auction sheet. It should describe the car as white and usually prints the code. A sheet that says one colour with a code for another means the car was painted before it was sold in Japan. Our auction sheet translator flags that.
  4. Look for the old colour where a respray rarely reaches: the engine bay, door shuts, inside the boot lid and fuel flap, and under rubber seals.

Questions

What colour is Nissan paint code QM1?

QM1 is White (ホワイト), a solid white paint.

What colour should the V5C say for a car in QM1?

The DVLA records a basic colour, not the paint name, so a car still in its factory White should be registered as WHITE or CREAM. Anything else suggests it has been painted a new colour, and the keeper should have told the DVLA.

Which models came in White?

Japanese catalogue colour listings include it for the Nissan Skyline GT-R R33 (BCNR33), Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 (BNR34) and Nissan Serena C26 (C26). We believe the Nissan Skyline R33 (ECR33) and Nissan Skyline R34 (ER34) also offered it, but haven’t confirmed that yet. Other Nissan models outside our model library used it too.
