We believe these offered it too, but haven’t confirmed it yet:

Other Mitsubishi models outside our model library used T65 too.

Has a T65 car been resprayed?

  1. Find the model plate and read the code. On the caution plate in the engine bay, next to EXT (the exterior paint). Codes are a letter and two digits, such as W37. If it says T65, the car left the factory in Dark Blue Mica.
  2. Check the V5C. For Dark Blue Mica it should say BLUE. Add the paint code to our free check and we’ll compare it with the DVLA record for you.
  3. Check the auction sheet. It should describe the car as blue and usually prints the code. A sheet that says one colour with a code for another means the car was painted before it was sold in Japan. Our auction sheet translator flags that.
  4. Look for the old colour where a respray rarely reaches: the engine bay, door shuts, inside the boot lid and fuel flap, and under rubber seals. Dark Blue Mica has a mica finish, so look along each panel at an angle for a change in shade.

Questions

What colour is Mitsubishi paint code T65?

T65 is Dark Blue Mica (ダークブルーマイカ), a mica blue paint.

What colour should the V5C say for a car in T65?

The DVLA records a basic colour, not the paint name, so a car still in its factory Dark Blue Mica should be registered as BLUE. Anything else suggests it has been painted a new colour, and the keeper should have told the DVLA.

Which models came in Dark Blue Mica?

Japanese catalogue colour listings include it for the Mitsubishi Delica Space Gear L400 (PD8W). We believe the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VII to IX (CT9A) and Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X (CZ4A) also offered it, but haven’t confirmed that yet. Other Mitsubishi models outside our model library used it too.
